Success Story: Jennifer Lee
A real inspiring story of a creator who after studying Arts dropped out of her “day job” and made living out of selling art.

To start with, in fourth grade she was laughed upon for thinking that “Artist” is a real job that she can have in future. When she was in college, all of her collegues always thought of working in a bar and not able to do anything else. It came out to be true as she actually worked as a “bartender” after her graduation for 5 years afterwards. She still used to make art on the side.

In 2010, she grew tired of the restaurant scene and took a “real job” at a medical company. A 30 minute commute, 9-5, my own office, and more Microsoft Excel than any one human being could imagine. This is what everybody told her to do. You are supposed to hate your job and live for the weekends.
When she started thinking about what to do long term, the only thing she could think about was “art”. So she quit her job and decide to make a living out of her art.
She started to read stories about how people made a living out of selling art, ceramics, jewelry online. She started putting up her art on facebook, pinterest, twitter and many other websites where her work was starting to be appreciated.

She never said that life is a cup of cake for an artist, she struggled and barely even ate in first four months of her career as an artist. But in her own words, “If it was easy, then everybody would become one. You will have friends who won’t take what you’re doing seriously. But try to remember, being artistic is a gift that not everyone has. You can use this gift to open doors that a lot of other people do not have access to.”
Your friends who work 9-5 jobs will get on your case if you don’t answer a text until 10:30am because that is when you woke up. But they won’t realize that you were up until 4am painting. Because you can do that when you make your own schedule.
