Avanti is launching an exclusive online test series package for you.
Here are 5 tips to help you get a better JEE rank by online testing:
# 1 – Start Early
Start with taking major tests that contain questions from a bunch of chapters. This will help you practice multi-concept questions even if you haven’t finished your complete syllabus.
#2 – Only take tests after you have finished the syllabus for them
Try to finish your complete syllabus by December end. This will leave you with plenty of time to revise. Take full syllabus tests only after you have finished the syllabus.
#3 – Take at least one 3hr test every weekend between 10am to 1pm
To ensure that you perform well on the exam day, take one three hour test every weekend between 10 am to 1 pm, the time slot at which actual JEE exam is conducted. This will train your mind to be fully active during these hours. Ensure that you sit in a silent place while you take your mock.
#4 – Study in 3 hour slots.
It’s important that you learn to work at a stretch for 3 hours. It doesn’t happen easily for most of us. Start by breaking your study schedule in 3 hour slots. Once you study for three hours, take a 30 minutes break. Even if you start practising this now, you’ll be well practised by April.
#5 – Analyse each test in detail
One of the common mistakes which students do is they do not analyse their mistakes properly. It is very important that you analyse each test in detail. Make sure that you spend enough time on test analysis, mark your mistakes and revise those concepts before the next test.
1. 100% guarantee that your paper gets submitted and you get complete 3 hours, without anytime getting wasted in filling the OMR or changing answers in OMR.
2. No errors in OMR Filling
a. Questions that you have answered and questions you haven’t answered are clearly indicated through colour coding which prevents you from forgetting to mark any answer.
b. Marking answers as you solve saves additional time which goes in filling the OMR.
3. Practice for Advanced
a. Helps you get familiar with centres and testing environment for JEE Advanced.
b. Easy to navigate through the paper.
c. Real-time track of the time you have spent and the time left.
4. Better Centres – You get better test centres with comfortable chairs, air conditioning to ensure that no external factors can hinder your performance.
JEE is one of the toughest exam on the planet. Even the most intelligent students cannot crack it without hard work.
In the last few months of your IIT-JEE preparation so probably starting from the month of December (assuming that you have completed your portion and done revising once), you can start taking mock tests. You can think of giving a mock test once a week in the month of December, January and February and then increase the frequency to twice a week, it completely depends on you.
Now, after you give the mock you will have to analyse it thoroughly. You could take help of the question “How can an IIT-JEE Test Series help to improve my score?” to understand how analysis of a mock test can be done.
After analysis you would realise that there would be certain areas which require improvement. Say, there is a conceptual gap or that particular area requires more practise. Once you identify these areas, note them done. Make a schedule so that you could cover these topics which you identified.
You could devote certain amount of time (3-4 hours) for these topics. And the time left could be utilised for revision of the syllabus, for which you could make one more time table depending upon the topics you wish to revise.
Some reputed institutes do have the initial one mock free. You could access that mock. Avanti provides a free online mock. You could appear for that mock and decide whether you wish to buy the complete package, which is quite cheap compared to other test series. Avanti Test series is designed by our experts and we have questions which are well within the syllabus. After a test you’re given a diagnostic report for a better understanding of your weakness.
You can visit our website for more information.
Although there would be certain institutes provides a range of free mocks but the quality of these mock tests are below par, so it is advised that you buy a package of mock test rather than appearing for free online tests.
Yes, there are multiple online tools available at your disposal. Avanti has its own online learning portal, which could help in your preparation.

Since it is a time based exam your calculation speed and accuracy of the calculations will play a very important role. To do faster calculations you could do the following:
1) Learn tables (at least 1 to 30).
2) Learn squares (1 to 30) and cubes (1 to 15)
3) Learn percentages (1 to 15) and reciprocals (1 to 15)
4) Learn log values (1 to 10)
Also, there are multiple free Vedic Maths tutorials available online which could help you increase your calculation speed.
It shouldn’t be the case that when you realise that time is money; it has slipped out of your hand. With distractions appearing at every blink of an eye, you should become oblivious to them. Facebook, Whatsapp or other social media handles can have a negative impact on your preparation. So, keep them away for the time being. Though some groups on Facebook or Google+ can be helpful keeping in mind your preparation, you should restrict yourselves to them. Also, friends can be a distraction so be wise in choosing your friends for these 2 years of preparation.
Two years is a really long time and so it is important for you to keep yourselves motivated throughout this period. There are a few points we would like to share:
While preparing for JEE an aspirant has millions of book to read. But experts at Avanti suggest few standard books. The books listed below are being followed for a very long time. Students are advised to follow these books.

By the final month you would be aware of your strengths and weaknesses. So, you are advised to focus on your strengths and polish them as much as you can. Avoid as far as possible the topics that you find difficult or rather your weaknesses.
Give mocks analyse your performance in the same. Understand your psychology better, the way you react to a mock, to a question and accordingly devise a strategy that best suits you.
Don’t get bogged down by the pressure, remember that are lakhs of students preparing along with you and a few thousands would make it to those dream institutes and you want to be one of them so work hard for the last stride.
Since everyone appearing for an exam is different, generally we do not have a best way to go about it. A best way for one might not be the best way for the other. So, when you prepare for an exam, you should understand which topics you are comfortable with and which topics you find difficult. As time passes, you try to identify your weaknesses and polish them, simultaneously hone your strengths.
Hard work and a hunger to get into the best Engineering institutes of the country is the only key to success at IIT-JEE.
