National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is an autonomous organisation of the Government of India which was established on 1st September 1961. Textbooks published by the NCERT are prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) from classes I to XII, with exceptions for a few subjects. Around 19 school boards from 14 states have adopted or adapted the books. The NCERT books are prescribed to students preparing for various national level competitive exams seeking admission for undergraduate courses in the field of Engineering, Medicine, and Dentistry etc.

The NCERT exemplar problems plays an essential role especially for the students preparing towards their board exams and assists them to focus on getting the basic concepts cleared.
National Talent Search Examination (NTSE)
National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is one of the most prestigious national level scholarship programs. Its aim is to identify talented individuals and nurture them. This exam is conducted by National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) for Std. 10th students. The exam is held on two stages viz. Stage 1 (State/UT level) and Stage 2 (National level). Every year about 50 Lakh candidates apply for this program and roughly 1000 candidates are awarded this scholarship.
