KCET

The result for the KCET 2018 will be released by the KEA in an online mode for all the candidates who appeared for the examination. The result will provide the ranks and the scores obtained by the candidates in the entrance exam. The procedure to check the result is given below, candidates can follow the below mentioned steps to check their KCET 2018 result.

• Enter your KCET 2018 registration number.
• The result will be available on the screen.
• Check your scores and other details, ranks obtained etc. and download the result for future references.
• Take a printout of the result for future reference.

The KCET 2018 counselling would be held tentatively in the month of June 2018. Only the candidates who have qualified for the examination will be eligible for the counselling process. The registrations for the same will begin soon after the result and the counselling details are released on the official website of KCET. The candidates, during the counselling process will be allotted seats into various participating institutes.

The candidates will be allotted seats in an online mode. The allotment of seats will be done on the basis of the candidate’s KCET 2018 score and his/her preference of seats. The list of allotted seats will be published on the official website of the KCET. Payment of the fees should be done after the allotment of seats; this will confirm the admission of the candidate. The candidates who manage to score marks equal to or more than the cut-off marks of KCET 2018 will be allowed to participate in the counselling process. In any case a candidate fails to register or to get himself/herself verified then he/she will not be allotted any seats during the counselling process.

The authorities of the KCET will provide the provisional and the final answer keys for the KCET 2018 examination. Candidates can check their result using the provisional answer keys. In case, candidates raise an objection with a valid proof of any discrepancies present in the provisional answer key, then the admission committee will consider the query and then again release the final answer key for the examination. The answer key will help candidates to calculate their marks and hence estimate their expected rank.

To apply for the KCET 2018 candidates are required to fill the application form for the exam. The form will be released by KEA in an online mode in the second week of January 2018. Candidates who wish to appear for the exam must fill the online application form and submit the fees before the application deadline.

Procedure to fill the KCET 2018 Form:

• Choose a password for login.
• Enter your personal details like contact number, date of birth, email ID etc.
• Upload scanned copies of recent photographs, signature and left thumb impression as per the specifications.
• Submit the application fee via State Bank of Hyderabad, Indian Bank, State Bank of Mysore or by e-post office.
• Submit the application form and take a print out of the same. It’s recommended to get it signed by your parents/guardian and principal (of your school or college) or the Gazetted Officer for future reference.

The participating institutes of KCET 2018 will be the colleges which would be offering seats to various B.Tech programmes, candidates are required to fill the names of the participating institutes of KCET 2018 according to their preference for the counselling process. Marking Scheme:

Kannada Language Test:

Candidates from Horanadu, Gadinadu and Kanadiga need to appear for the Kannada Language Test. It will be conducted by the KEA at test centre located in Bangalore.

• Total Marks: The language test will be of a total of 50 marks in an offline mode.
• Duration: The test will be conducted for a period of 1 hour.
• Difficulty: The Kannada language Test is 4th Std. level.

Minimum Marks:

Candidates need to score a minimum of 12 marks in the Kannada Language test. Candidates must score the minimum score to be considered for allotment of ranks and to become eligible for the allotment of seats in the KCET 2018.

The syllabus for the KCET 2018 examination will be at par with the first and second year pre-university course (PUC) as specified by the Department of Pre-university Education of Karnataka State. It is strongly recommended for all the candidates appearing for the KCET examination to know their syllabus before appearing for the examination. The syllabus will include topics from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.

The KEA reserves certain seats for the candidates belonging to various categories as the KCET 2018 reserved criteria. The seats would be reserved for special categories including Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), physically disabled, defence categories to name a few. Candidates applying for the admission to the participating institutes of the Karnataka CET can avail the benefits of the Reservation Criteria. While filling the application form for the exam, candidates will have to mention their reservation category. Also, candidates must produce a valid document which supports their claim. The documents will be verified at the time of document verification, during the KCET counselling. The following table mentions the reserved categories prescribed by the KEA.
