NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It is a national level examination which is responsible for the admission into MBBS and BDS courses. After qualifying this examination, you will be eligible to seek admission in various medical and dental colleges across the country. Based on the NEET 2018 result, the admission to a total of 90,000 MBBS and BDS seats across medical and dental colleges will be offered. Out of which, 65,000 seats are of MBBS course and the remaining are for the BDS course. There are Central Government, State Government, University, Deemed University, Trust, Society, Company, Minority Institutions in India offering admissions to candidates. You may attempt the NEET three times, starting from the current year. The NEET question paper will be available in various languages like English, Hindi, Oriya, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada etc. This is done so that the aspirants studying from the regional languages do not face a problem. The applications for the NEET 2018 will be opened in the last week of January 2018.
Students belonging to the age group of 17-25 can appear for the NEET examination. The NEET is expected to be held in one slot and is touted to be tougher than the previously conducted AIPMT. It will have 2 merit lists. The major portion (85%) is for the state quota and the minor one (15%) for the national quota.
