NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It is a national level examination which is responsible for the admission into MBBS and BDS courses. After qualifying this examination, you will be eligible to seek admission in various medical and dental colleges across the country. The official NEET answer key is released by the CBSE in the month of June. The answer key contains solutions to the NEET exam, which is held in the month of May. The CBSE releases code wise and language wise answer keys. The students can challenge the NEET answer key 2018 within the duration for which the answer key is available. The CBSE will refund the fee if the challenge is accepted. The result of the NEET examination will be according to the final answer key.

How to download the official NEET answer key ?
Step 1: Visit the official website of NEET 2018 at cbseneet.nic.in
Step 2: Then click on the notification towards the right side of the page, for the answer key.
Step 3: You can then download the answer key to cross check your answers from the OMR sheets given to you.
How to calculate the score using the NEET answer key ?
To calculate the score using the answer key one should have fair idea about the NEET exam pattern and the marking scheme. Please follow the below mentioned numbers to understand the NEET exam pattern and the marking scheme.

Each correct question in the examination will award you +4 marks and 1 mark would be deducted for every wrong answer. Note that no marks will be awarded/deducted for an unmarked question.

How to challenge the official answer key?
If you have any complaints related to the NEET 2018 answer key, you can submit your query to the CBSE in an online mode with the supporting documents and a fee of 1000/- per question, which is payable through the debit/credit card before the prescribed date. Your query will be addressed by the subject experts/committees constituted by the CBSE. The recommendations made by the committee with regards to the answer key will be considered to be final. If the complaint filed is found to be genuine, the fee would be refunded, which is paid while filing the complaint.
The complaints which are received after the prescribed the time or without the payment will not be addressed. The complaints received by e-mail/fax will not be considered.
Steps to challenge the official NEET Answer key
1) Login using the NEET registration number and password.
2) Click on ‘Key Challenge’ tab and select the answer booklet code.
3) Select question to challenge and submit.
4) Select answer and give comments/justification for the answer.
5) Click on ‘Confirm’ tab and pay the required fee for challenging the answer key.
6) The payment of the fee can be done using a debit/credit card. For each answer key challenge the candidate has to pay 1000/-
7) Take a printout of the confirmation slip showing details of the answer key challenged.
Paper Analysis of NEET 2017
Weightage:
The year 2017 saw an equal weightage to both 11th and 12th syllabi. Though, Physics saw a slight imbalance, with 24 and 21 questions from 11th and 12th standards respectively. The paper housed 19 questions coming from Mechanics, 5 coming from Thermodynamics and Kinetic Theory, 9 coming from Electrodynamics, 5 coming from Optics and Wave Optics and 7 coming from Modern Physics.
For Chemistry, 21 questions from the 11th standard and 24 questions from the 12th standard. The paper had 12 questions coming from Physical Chemistry, 14 coming from Organic Chemistry, 12 questions coming from Inorganic Chemistry and 4 questions coming from General Chemistry.
Biology was balanced with 46 and 44 questions coming from the 12th and 11th standards respectively. The paper housed 11 questions coming from Reproduction, 15 coming from Genetics and Evolution, 7 coming from Biology and Human Welfare, 4 coming from Biotechnology, 9 coming from Ecology, 11 coming from Diversity in Living Organisms, 7 coming from Structural Organization in Plants and Animals, 7 coming from Cell Structure and Function, 6 coming from Plant Physiology and 13 coming from Human Physiology.
Difficulty:
The difficulty level of NEET 2017 was moderate. Physics which is always perceived to be difficult in the NEET was of moderate difficulty, with a lot of questions being calculation intensive. Compared to last year it was slightly tougher and lengthier. Chemistry was again moderate in difficulty level. Most questions were conceptual and application based. Biology was moderately difficult and was no different from the last year. Again here, most questions were conceptual, so the one with strong conceptual base would definitely find it solvable.
NEET 2018 Counselling
The NEET 2018 counseling will commence in the month of June. Those candidates who will qualify the NEET 2018 and satisfy the eligibility criteria will be able to participate in NEET 2018 Counselling. For the 15% All India Quota, the counselling will be conducted by the Medical Council Committee (MCC). Rest of the 85% seats will be filled by the designated state authority.
For all the institutes whether established by the Central Government, State Government, University, Deemed University, Trust, Society, Company, Minority Institutions or Corporation, the common counselling will be organized by the state authority.
